Zayda – 2 year old female
Zayda is a beautiful 2-year-old female Mudi who is looking for an active, understanding pet home that appreciates that not every dog is a social butterfly. [Zayda was *not* bred by Thanagar, we took responsibility for her and her placement to support our breed community.]
Zayda is very well behaved, calm, and non-reactive purebred Mudi. She is kennel trained, house trained, and walks excellent on leash. She’s active without being over-the-top high energy, making her a wonderful potential hiking or adventure companion.
Zayda has some very important boundaries, and the right home will respect them.
She does not enjoy being touched or grabbed at, especially by people she doesn’t know. Couch cuddles are high on her list of loves, don’t worry! She just needs someone who understands canine body language and is willing to let her build trust and affection at her own pace. She isn’t the dog who wants everyone reaching for her, and that’s okay. We’re looking for someone who will love her for who she is rather than expecting her to be a dog she isn’t.
Zayda is good with other dogs, although she can get nippy during high-arousal moments. She also does not appreciate yappy little dogs getting in her face, especially poodles, so a thoughtful match with compatible dogs is important.
Zayda will be available for adoption in early October. Before going home, she will be spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested, and fully vaccinated. Her AKC registration will transfer to her adopter. There is an adoption fee of $500.
Zayda is fostered in central North Carolina. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet her and take her home.
