Phoenix is one of our crowd favorites! She’s a Baza daughter, bred by our good friend at Regerastace Mudi in Northern Ireland. Her mother is an outgoing, silly brown merle, and Phoenix definitely got the best of both her parents.

Phoenix is a smart and sweet little pocket rocket who charms everyone she meets. When she’s working, she’s intense and opinionated, but once she understands what the goal is, she’s a phenomenal teammate. When she’s not working, she loves nothing more than to cuddle on the couch or to play with her border collie housemates. She has endless drive and enthusiasm for anything that you want to do, loves toys and food, and enjoys nothing more than to make humans laugh. She does require clear boundaries or her mad scientist nature will take over experimenting, but fortunately she values being a teammate highly enough that she’s more than willing to work within those boundaries when she understands them.

Phoenix is friendly but not obnoxiously social. She’s happy to meet strangers and will work for anyone, but always has a preference for her people. She generally gets along well with other dogs, though she can be pushy with some dogs if they don’t immediately play her games. Phoenix is nonreactive and very stable, and chooses to avoid things that make her uncomfortable rather than engage negatively. She is observant of the environment without being concerned or sensitive about it, and handles all sorts of travel and training/trial sites without batting an eye, once properly acclimated.

Phoenix is primarily training for agility with world team aspirations, but we’re working hard on herding and flyball, with plans to debut in both in 2027. She also dabbles in many other sports, including rally, obedience, barn hunt, and nosework, and will trial in them occasionally as well.
